Lieutenant Jerry Seevers
Lt. Jerry Seevers has served with the Nevada Highway Patrol since July of 1982. He was initially stationed in Tonopah, until July of 1984, when he transferred to Reno.
Jerry has worked a variety of assignments in his career. He became a motorcycle officer in September of 1992, and was certified by the California Highway Patrol as a Police Motorcycle Training Officer in October of 1994. He rode and taught on the motorcycle detail for 6 years.
As a sergeant, Jerry was assigned as an investigator for the Department of Public Safety’s, Office of Professional Responsibility (Internal Affairs) in Carson City.
In December of 2002, Sgt. Seevers became the Commander of the Office of Professional Responsibility.
In July of 2003, Jerry was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant. Lt. Seevers was then assigned as the Commander of the Carson/Minden/Tahoe District. After approximately one year that assignment was increased to include the Fernley/Fallon District.
In December of 2005, Lt. Seevers was assigned as the Northern Command, Administrative Services Commander.
In April of 2007 Jerry was assigned as the Highway Patrol Division, Personnel Section Commander.
Jerry graduated from the Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command in May of 2005. He also holds a POST Management Certificate.
Lt. Seevers is married to Jileen. They have five children, one grandchild, and live in Spanish Springs.
