Captain Karen Lorenzo
Nevada Highway Patrol

Captain Lorenzo began her career with the Reno Police Department in 1984. In 1988, she was hired by the Parole & Probation Division, where she worked until 2006. During her 18 years at the Parole & Probation Division, Captain Lorenzo worked a myriad of assignments and attained the rank of Lieutenant. In 2006, Captain Lorenzo was promoted and transferred to the DPS Investigation Division. In February 2009, Captain Lorenzo transferred to the Highway Patrol, Southern Command and became the Traffic Operations Commander. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice from the University of Nevada Reno and is currently working toward obtaining her Master’s Degree. Captain Lorenzo is a 2005 graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Police Staff and Command and a 2008 graduate of the FBI National Academy.
