Lieutenant Wick started his law enforcement career in 1997 following his career with the U.S. Air Force
that exceeded twenty years. Upon completion of the Highway Patrol Academy Lieutenant Wick was assigned to traffic operations
in the Primm District within Southern Command. During his assignment to the Primm District, Lieutenant Wick, worked as a Field
Training Officer, Background Investigator, and was certified as a RADAR Instructor. Additionally, during
this time Lieutenant Wick completed Technical Accident Investigation, Vehicle Dynamics, and Automobile Theft courses.
In 2003, Lieutenant Wick was promoted to the rank of Sergeant and transferred from Primm to urban Las Vegas. As a Sergeant,
Lieutenant Wick was assigned to the Commercial Enforcement Section. During his assignment to Commercial Enforcement Lieutenant
Wick became certified as a commercial vehicle inspector to include an inspector of hazardous materials and radioactive vehicles.
Also, Lieutenant Wick was a member of the Southern Command Hazardous Material Response team and one of two members certified as
a Highway Response Specialist.
In 2006, Lieutenant Wick was promoted to his current rank. Since his promotion to Lieutenant, he has been assigned to traffic
operations where he has managed the operations Las Vegas urban graveyard, rural areas within Southern Command, and Special
Operations.
Lieutenant Wick has been awarded an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Missile Technology, Associate of General Studies Degree
in Arts and Science, Bachelor of Science Degree with a major in Business and a minor in Military Science, and a Master of Science
Degree with a concentration in Disaster and Emergency Management. Additionally, Nevada Peace Officers’ Standards and Training (POST)
has awarded Lieutenant Wick his Basic, Intermediate, Advanced, and Management POST Certificates. In 2007, Lieutenant Wick graduated
from the Northwestern University, School of Police Staff and Command.
